In case you are interested to see more about where we stayed during our weekend trip, these photos may satisfy you. It was like old European houses and was my second time in this hotel, but this experience was totally different. First, because their services have raised and I believe they are in a better situation of hosting knowledge than before.
Nevertheless, let me to clear something here, If I am so excited that much, the reason is that I have been to so many hotels in Venezuela. Generally, the tourism industry in this country is not the best one in the world and all the problems start by SERVICES, Hotels are the worst part of this industry. You have to prepare yourself to look for towels and tooth paste! You have to prepare yourself for the most horrible cocktails in the Hotels’ bars. So based on the this quick introduction, I have to say that everywhere was clean and neat, the staff are kind fast and really good at their duties. Rooms have a traditional decorations, hot water is available, clean towels are and your room will be cleaned every single day. The food and drinks are incredible as well. The rest of joy is the nature.
Just in case you have not read the previous part the trip, La colonia Tovar is a village near the Caracas. The hotel I am talking about is: Hotel Selva Negra.
This post has published on http://www.tobelikealady.com, and I would like to share that with you here, as well.
If you are wondering to know how the entire space does look in a tropical climate area, I have to confess that I’ve had the same question since I studied the Tropical Climate, regions and jungles in my books at school. My imagination was humid hot countries covered by sea and tropical trees and obviously, no Pine Tree, no Chiminea in the room, no cold foggy early morning! Long Story, Shorts. Everything has changed in my mind when I found out about a village two hours away from Caracas. The village is called Colonia Tovar.
It is basically has built by German passengers of a lost ship. When the people tried to survive, they reached this land and began to establish their own community. The architecture is exactly like what you see in cold region and every thing I mentioned as NO ones, come true by getting to Colonia Tovar. The beer and Sausage is so good and as you anticipate a German food industry fame. The last weekend we went there and stayed in Hotel Selva Negra, which is (I think) the second old Hotel of Venezuela. Dogs are allowed in this hotel that is so interesting because in Venezuela, it is a unique option. you can find it on Trip Advisor as well.
This Post went up on my second blog and I would like to share with some of you who doesn’t follow that here:
I know what does it mean and some how I have over come! My first month after marriage started by saying good bye to my country, family and friends. Although I am so happy to experience the world, languages and cultures, I feel something which is hard to define.I just know how to cure them. The firs step is not to suppress that.
Now you are in the stage to be a doctor for your memories and emotions. It doesn’t matter how much you hate the home or even how much you are enthusiastic to adventure; The matter is that the inside pieces strengthen as you get further.
Secondly, take something with you:
What is more fun; the part reminds you the best days. I always have mine. It is a moon as you see. My mom bought me a Barbie who was laid on that when I was nine; we lived in the south in Iran, in Abadan. After eight years of military conflict between Iran and Iraq, the city was a whole mess. Infection, illness, lacking of essential products and so many more… Having a Barbie was a paradise in the hell. I remember it was really expensive… Any way, it reminds me, family, childhood dreams and love.
My husband takes his mocks! So fantasy and in the same time his love to American classic cars, especially those which are from 70th decade!
Keep in touch:
these days a free phone call by smart phones is way easier than calling for pizza delivery at your door. so do that!
These easy simple steps are on top of what I do based on my experience to be happy and overcome all horrible emotions caused by distance.
I have heard thousand times, that in Latin America all walls are in wonderful colors, all walls are covered by paintings, shapes and forms that send massage out. I saw this wall when I got out from San Ignacio mall. San Ignacio is located in Chacao, one of the safe areas in Caracas. However, you have to keep in mind when I say a safe area, means less dangerous than others.
I’m so sad. Feelings like being insecure and no way to start and go to the end. We are always moving in a new place. As a child, because of my dad’s job we lived in different places. It irritated me so much. I loved my friends and school; neighbors and my room. I always wished to stay and never change the things. Surprisingly, my life after marriage is the same because of my husband’ s job. In some points it sounds a perfect lifestyle to see several cities and countries; to know more about others, cultures, learning a new language or even try delicious foods. Nevertheless, what I need most is “to have a permanent home”; no matter if we travel a lot, the matter is I want to have a permanent book shelves, shower, bed and a corner to keep my cute memorable priceless collection of everything. From photos to handmade hats! I am tired of losing my stuff, of leaving them at relatives’ cabinet, of forgetting thousands of details which disappear in terrible unorganized status… :((
Whish to know the last or at least a permanent destination for a while in 2014.
The magic day started at 3:00 am when the cell phone rang and we woke up. we all were in balcony waiting for the coordinator or someone else to lead us to the car was supposed to take us to the riverside.
We passed through a modern Indian camp and reached the river.
tour guide and the boatman
The vehicle took us to the riverside
It is about 5:30 in the morning
The tour guide told us that in a specific part of river the river flowing is too much that the boat wouldn’t be able to bear that’s why we had to walk for almost twenty minutes through a plain and again get in another boat that was the most difficult part.
we started walking from here
local people who live in the plain we walked through
I love this photo
Indian boatman was silent in the whole time
The unique walk
It was dramatically unexpected that we got wet totally from top to toe. Especially in frequent situations which they asked us to keep sitting in the middle of boat in addition to keep our heads down because the boast was going against the flow of such a wild water. I couldn’t take pictures as many as possible to capture the beauty surrounded us such as huge rocks in the middle of river. It was incredibly crazy which is impossible to explain that by words.
I am immersed in.
really going to cry by looking at this photo
After two hours we stopped four few minuets to take photos from this great view of Angel fall
The next destination was a jungle mountain (if it is an appropriate word to say); The path took us three hours to have another view of Angel Fall; Nevertheless, we had not the chance to go down the Angel Fall because this year was one of the most rainy years and the water level was too high to be able swim in the lower falls down the Angel
It was fantastic
This wide bush like plant is a kind of interesting which grows on any kind of tree
I adore how the ground was textured by tree branch
Salto means Waterfall; we were getting near 🙂
Finally Angel Fall:
I hope you enjoy this post; I tried to show a tiny piece of Angel fall beauty. Please, let me know if you find it interesting.
