Impression in La Colonia Tovar

Standard

In case you are interested to see more about where we stayed during our weekend trip, these photos may satisfy you. It was like old European houses and was my second time in this hotel, but this experience was totally different. First, because their services have raised and I believe they are in a better situation of hosting knowledge than before.

Nevertheless, let me to clear something here, If I am so excited that much, the reason is that I have been to so many hotels in Venezuela. Generally, the tourism industry in this country is not the best one in the world and all the problems start by SERVICES, Hotels are the worst part of this industry. You have to prepare yourself to look for towels and tooth paste! You have to prepare yourself for the most horrible cocktails in the Hotels’ bars. So based on the this quick introduction, I have to say that everywhere was clean and neat, the staff are kind fast and really good at their duties. Rooms have a traditional decorations, hot water is available, clean towels are and your room will be cleaned every single day. The food and drinks are incredible as well. The rest of joy is the nature.

Just in case you have not read the previous part the trip, La colonia Tovar is a village near the Caracas. The hotel I am talking about is: Hotel Selva Negra.

This post has published on http://www.tobelikealady.com, and I would like to share that with you here, as well.

If you are wondering to know how the entire space does look in a tropical climate area, I have to confess that I’ve had the same question since I studied the Tropical Climate, regions and jungles in my books at school. My imagination was humid hot countries covered by sea and tropical trees and obviously, no Pine Tree, no Chiminea in the room, no cold foggy early morning! Long Story, Shorts. Everything has changed in my mind when I found out about a village two hours away from Caracas. The village is called Colonia Tovar.

It is basically has built by German passengers of a lost ship. When the people tried to survive, they reached this land and began to establish their own community. The architecture is exactly like what you see in cold region and every thing I mentioned as NO ones, come true by getting to Colonia Tovar. The beer and Sausage is so good and as you anticipate a German food industry fame. The last weekend we went there and stayed in Hotel Selva Negra, which is (I think) the second old Hotel of Venezuela. Dogs are allowed in this hotel that is so interesting because in Venezuela, it is a unique option. you can find it on Trip Advisor as well.

Angel fall #5

Standard

The magic day started at 3:00 am when the cell phone rang and we woke up. we all were in balcony waiting for the coordinator or someone else to lead us to the car was supposed to take us to the riverside.

We passed through a modern Indian camp and reached the river.

The tour guide told us that in a specific part of river the  river flowing  is too much that the boat wouldn’t be able to bear that’s why we had to walk for almost twenty minutes through a plain and again get in another boat that was the most difficult part.

It was dramatically unexpected that we got wet totally from top to toe. Especially in frequent situations which they asked us to keep sitting in the middle of boat in addition to keep our heads down because the boast was going against  the flow of such a wild water. I couldn’t take pictures as many as possible to capture the beauty surrounded us such as huge rocks in the middle of river. It was incredibly crazy which is impossible to explain that by words.

I am immersed in.

absolutely Amazing

really going to cry by looking at this photo

After two hours we stopped four few minuets to take photos from this great view of Angel fall

The next destination was a jungle mountain (if it is an appropriate word to say); The path took us three hours to have another view of Angel Fall; Nevertheless, we had not the chance to go down the Angel Fall because this year was one of the most rainy years and the water level was too high to be able swim in the lower falls down the Angel

Angel Fall#4

First day of our package was visiting the Sapo waterfall. Sapo in Spanish means  “Frog”! we had a journey across the pond by Indian boats was located in front of our camp; after about 20 minutes or less we reached to our walking path. Passing through a pain with different insects and weird black dust and soil we arrived to our destination. A vast area covered by a river and falls like stairs going down… the first fall which we were allowed to go under that and enjoy the purity and high pressure of its water was about one meter and half lower the land height we were walking on.

Rules:

1. In some parts we had to walk by plastic slippers and when we arrived near the fall we had to wear the socks. I really haven’t understands how the socks can prevent falling down; but it was the techniques our tour guide thought us.

2. In whole our journey we were recommended to apply replant creams to be safe from insects.

About 10 meters before catching the fall and also all ground around it was covered by extremely slippy rocks.

The photos about this part were captured by one of my friends, so I haven’t them now. I will post the later

Angel Fall tour #3

Tomorrow morning we went to the airport and by a ten people airplane flied to the Canaima.

Everything above the clouds were distinct and fantastic. It was the first time in whole my life that I have seen such these great views. I remember all my geographic books at school; the teachers always showed us some pictures like these and told us these are rivers and jungles, mountains and vast lands! I wondered how the huge jungles and rivers seem so intense and small. And right now that I am typing these words I wonder if I have seen anything before this trip about the nature!

All awful times we passed were  worth it; I forgot everything even the weird woman who caused the flight missing. I am really sorry for not being able to share all amazing beauties I saw here! I hope you all travel there and see what I am telling now.

The below one are the Canaima airport. I think it is the most cool airport ever in the world. As you see that place which has gable roof is all airport building! That’s all!

Angel fall#2

Standard

Monday morning at 3:00 we woke and grabed our stuff; meet our friends as we arranged before and went to the airport. As for going to the Angel fall there is no direct flight first from Caracas to Puerto Ordaz then catch a connecting flight to Canaima.

We arrived at the airport about 4:30 am, passing security checking( it was odd that no one was stopped by officer although the security checking gate alarmed) plus getting the boarding passes. We were supposed to be in Canaima almost 12 up to 12:30 pm and having our first tour to Sapo fall countinuing by Tuesday morning at 4:00am and after three hours journey by boat to the Angel fall.

No matter how much we were impatient and excited because before 6:30am which was our flight time” conviasa” ( the airline we flied by) announced that because of weather condition the flight is delayed! However what suprresed our excitement was not delay.

when we had gone few meters away from the gate to have a cup of coffee with our boarding passes in hands, all other passengers were boarded the gate was closed and we missed the flight.

let me make it clear; i’ve never seen before those who missed their flight with boarding passes in hands and being in the right gatehouse. However nothing is impossible im Venezuela!

when we went to the gate the weird lady who was im charge told us that she cannot call the flight crew because the doors are closed. It was extremly annoying to see the plan other side of window with closed doors and not being able to get there.

who made the final calls and announced our names as it is done in case passengers are not showed up in the boarding time?!! No one .

a group of eight people tried to convince the lady if she would call the cabin crew and flight deck crew and we biard before takeoff but she refused to do that.

You must catch the 12:30 pm flight! She said as there was no sign if sence on her face.

seriously??  U

our baggage; literally everything were flying to Canaima and would be arrived there at 11:00 am! We answered.

No one called us! it was announced once only that it is time for boarding and after 10 minutes. It didn’t work either.

discussion together, running to the other airline personnel and hours of waiting and reviewing what surprisingly had occurred simply and in a silly way, finally lead us to a horrible flight at 1:00pm to the Puerto Ordaz.

The unexpected exceeded expenses such as different flights, meals, losing the track of arranged tours, staying one more night in an awful motel to catching another connection flight to our destination and extending one more day of the Canaima tour to compensate our absence caused being exhausted and angry at motel.
